Atticus Ryder

A published writer, illustrator and joker living in London

Hey everyone…

I’ve done it, phew ! Published 3 children’s books and there are more on the way. It all started in secondary school when I won a prize for a short story, which now features in Twilight Tales. Now, you’ll often find me with my characters in a coffee shop or on Insta/Twitter.

My author mission:

Fuel children’s imaginations
Help reluctant readers (like I was)
A fun experience for families
Keep creating!

I want to pay it forward. I give away books to charities, schools, nurseries and children. DM me.

I was born and raised in the English countryside, I’ve has been a lifelong fan of jokes, LEGO, adventures, and above all else – a good story. I currently live in London (England) with my family, a full-time job and my art box. I’m a wannabe cat who loves reading/napping on my sofa in the sun.

Another great, imaginative book by Atticus Ryder! My granddaughters love reading his stories, (girls are 11 and 8). The stories are well-written, entertaining and lively and there are great life lessons in them. I hope there is another one soon!

Self-Publishing Review

A delightful collection of stories that push past the boundaries of imagination. There is no end to the creativity on display in these charming stories, with important underlying themes that can be critical in the formative years – loyalty, friendship, self-esteem, confidence, and honesty, among many others.

Young readers will be entranced by memory thieves and dragon saviors, professional pranksters and talking toads with wisdom to share.

These beautifully yet deceptively simply told stories have captured the imaginations of my just-4 and 5 year olds. From the incredible, wide-eyed attention my younger boy paid to every word of the Dancing Troll to my elder daughter’s astounded expression as the Memory Thief.

Twilight Tales

These are charming, heart-warming stories with really neat illustrations. My favourite is the dancing troll. I love how there are little links to a next story hidden in the stories.

Your books look great, eye-catching, appealing and once someone picks one up they won’t want to put it down, so the question is how to get them in front of parents.

Great book, fantastic stories that entertain and teach, truly enthralling tales and a bit of a laugh for mum and dad too. The illustration is fantastic and strikes a good balance in keeping our four year old on board. A rare treat.

My 20-month-old grandson loves listening to this book. The musicality of the rhymes and the play with words keeps children (and adults) of all ages coming back to read again and again.

I like that it’s not just another formulaic adventure series but is instead a collection of stories with actual themes and issues that kids can recognize and relate to. And that they aren’t worthy or heavy-handed about it.

You’ll laugh, cry and everything in between. Each story is unique and different from the next, and Atticus does a brilliant job of immersing the reader in the worlds and lives of his colourful cast of characters.

I read this book with my 2 year old Grandson. He sat still and listened all the way through and was captivated by the illustrations. I would thoroughly recommend it as one to be read over and over again.

What’s not to enjoy! All the elements of a story my little one loves – rhyming, bright pictures and even he can tell it’s funny.
